Bahia Honda State Park
A beautiful park in the Florida keys and one of the few with white sandy beaches. Sites are moderate size an there is good separation and foliage to maintain privacy. I had trouble setting up my camper and screen room on the site I was given. There were no other sites available for the time period I was staying so I was stuck. Part of the problem was the electric connection was on the wrong side of the camper and at that time I did not carry an extension. I do now and would have more options in arranging the site. Facilities were typical state park and I would give them an adequate rating only. Be prepared to defend yourself from mosquitoes and no seeums. This is also one of the few campgrounds where my camper has been seriously attacked by ants. I think they were after the moisture. Reservations are definitely recommended. This is a nice beautiful park but not my favorite. |
