If you're looking for a clean and well maintained
campground, you'll have to look long and hard to find one better than the
Disney operated campground at Fort Wilderness at Disney World in Orlando,
Florida. We packed up our truck and camper, and our DIL loaded up her
minivan with the Twins and all their toys and we headed to WDW for a
weekend of camping with FPUC.
I never saw anything other than pristinely clean rest rooms and well
maintained sites. Each site had a concrete pad, picnic table, grill and
shell rock area for a tent or screen house. Some sites were bigger than
others, especially the shell rock areas. Our smallish site had two poorly
positioned trees so that we were unable to erect our screen house, but
they did give good shade for the popup. Mostly all sites were well shaded
and had adequate room. Even though we had room to park our two vehicles,
WDW would allow only one vehicle to be parked at the site. There was
quickly a notice placed on our two vehicles (before we had even unpacked)
that one of them would have to go to the guest parking area outside the
campground. No campfires are allowed. |
