We attended the Eastern Popup Times Rally in Townsend, Tn on the
edge of the Smokey Mountains. There were over 200 campers in attendance. If you
get a chance to attend a PUT rally, I urge you to do so. We had a great time.
Part of our enjoyment was visiting again the beautiful Smokey Mountains, but
meetin' & greetin' the PUT board members made it a memorable trip. It was
worth every mile (850) from our West Palm Beach home.

Little River Village Campground was a beautifully maintained
park. It was evident everywhere the pride in which the owners operated
their campground: restrooms always clean, weeds pulled at all of the sites
and the beautiful landscaping at the entrance, and always a smile from the
campground personnel. Most sites were level, but somewhat narrow. We had a
river site and we quickly found out on the second day that the path that
cut through our site was not a path at all, but a dry creek bed. But
really no harm done, and the items that did get wet quickly dried out. We
had morning shade, but afternoon sun. It was fairly hot in the afternoon,
and I needed Popupgizmo's solar shades. The river sites are noticeably
cooler than sites away from the river. If you can do without the cable TV
available in other parts of the campground, they are the way to go. It was
great sitting outside and watching the 'tubers' float down the Little
River. I had a little trouble getting my camper level but with the help of
a friendly neighbor, things worked out. I've since put one of the Bal
levelers on my Christmas list.
See some of the pictures of our trip. If you were there, I hope you find
one with you in it, if not, they all bring back memories. |
