Wekiwa Springs State Park, Apopka, FL

Rain, rain, rain. That's what we experienced on this FPUC trip to Wekiwa Springs State Park, so I didn't get the camera out too often. We spent most of our time just relaxing and chilling out playing dominoes. We did manage a bike ride down to the springs one day and just made it back to the camper before the sky opened up. We didn't go swimming in the springs, but there were swimmers. They said the water was fine (a constant year round 72 degrees) through their blue, chattering lips.

Review I think that this park might be really fun in better weather. The sites are well separated from each other, but some of them are very narrow. I could barely set up my awning with my camper moved as far to the side as possible. There is a wood railing around the site to keep it from expanding, even though it was a good 50 ft to the neighboring sites. The length of the site was fine. Other sites didn't seem to have our problem and I guess it's the luck of the draw. All sites have a fire ring/grill and picnic table. Restrooms were clean and well maintained. I didn't do an inventory of sites, but site 7 was excellent, shade and space and site 18 had plenty of room but no shade in the afternoon sun.
