Our
Coleman Fairview set up at the Cherokee, NC KOA on one of our first
trips.
| Requirements |
|
Final Selection |
 | Comfortable living space for those inevitable rainy
days. |
|
|
The slide-out dinette gives you plenty of open move
around space. As I expect to take several extended trips,
I didn't want that claustrophobic feeling caused by a small
area. (I haven't regretted that decision) |

Since I had decided on the slide-out dinette
area, I looked at the base vehicle weights. I wanted the
storage compartment but it added from 300 to 600 lbs, of
additional weight. Base vehicle weight for the Fairview is
2,172 lbs. GVWR is 3,250 lbs. As it is now, when I'm fully
loaded for a trip, I definitely bend the 75% rule. Update:
On a recent trip, my fully loaded trailer weighed 2,660 lbs.
on the axle. I did not weigh the tongue separately, but
estimated it at 250 lbs. |
 | Room for my two boys and their families if they want to
come. My oldest son's wife just gave birth to twins, Michael and Hailey! |

|
We mostly camp at established campgrounds, so
lack of built-in shower and toilet was not a factor. We carry
and use frequently a Thetford 135 portipotti. |

J&J
Campers treated us with patience and the Coleman warranty
is excellent for a first time buyer. |

Came in with a final price of $7995 including
options of AC, 3 way refrigerator, awning, Escort brake
controller (controller installation and setup), break away
switch, battery box (no battery), Thetford 135 Portipotti,
water hose, full tank of propane. |
 | AC a must for here in Florida. |
